ROONEY OUT, TRIPPIER IN

Submitted by isport

Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad list for the World Cup qualifier against Scotland and friendly game against France. Southgate did not include Rooney in his last squad and he warned that the Three Lions skipper would not get a spot in his team unless he was playing regularly.

It did not come as a shock as Southgate eventually left out the star as Rooney was still not playing regularly. United coach Jose Mourinho used him a bit more towards the end of the Premier League season after star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic picked up an injury but Rooney failed to contribute anything meaningful in the Europa League final as Southgate had warned.

The coach wanted Rooney to play in “the biggest possible matches” and all he did was come on in the last minute of regular time as the Red Devils were already sure of victory just to win the Europa League. Having been left out, the latest rumour from Betting Tips 4 You is that he'll be heading out of Old Trafford and back to Goodison Park, where it all started for him as a teenager.

Southgate likely prepared his list already but that alone was enough to strike out his name if he was there in the first place.

Southgate gave Tottenham star Kieran Trippier an invitation to the national team. The right back has been sterling for Spurs this term. He is touted to replace Kyle Walker when he exits the team this summer.

Jermain Defoe retained his spot. He would compete alongside Spurs’ star Harry Kane, Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy and United youngster Marcus Rashford.

Goalie Jack Butland returned after injury and Ben Gibson though uncapped is called to serve. West Ham United star Aaron Cresswell is also included in the list. The other regulars like Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lingard, Smalling, Cahill, Clyne, Hart, Bertrand, Smalling, Stones, Walker, Alli, Dier, Lallana and Forster are included.
