GUARDIOLA BELIEVES FODEN SHOULD BE A MAINSTAY IN ENGLAND TEAM

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has declared that one of his star players this season Phil Foden should be a constant fixture in the England team. It is hard to argue with the City boss given the tremendous form that Foden has been in this season after the young star scored his eighth goal of the season.

Foden was the only scorer of the game as Manchester City secured a hard-fought win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday. Foden's performances during the game, including the overall performances he has shown in previous matches so far this season, have helped the blue club of Manchester maintain some degree of momentum that has seen them close in on the top four spots in the Premier League table.

20-year-old Foden's goal saw the Citizens win their seventh game on the bounce in all competitions this season and now means they are the third team in the league standings and are just four points behind leaders and fierce rivals Manchester United while being just one point behind Liverpool. Guardiola's side, however, may go above the Premier League champions in coming weeks as they have a game in hand over Jurgen Klopp's men.
Foden's spectacular strike has drawn Praises from his manager, who said that his young midfield star has done well enough in the past games to announce himself as a contender for a starting berth in the England team having faced some of the league's tough defenders recently.
Guardiola said Foden's recent performances will surely earn him not just a call-up to the England team but also help him lay a strong claim to start games for the Three Lions as well. Foden will be looking to continue his rich vein of form as his side attempt to win the League Cup, the League title, and the Champions League title.
